01 / PROFILE

BEYOND THE WANTED POSTER

Tyrant.

Bartholomew Kuma is a former Warlord from the South Blue whose immense stature contrasts with a restrained speaking style. His Paw-Paw Fruit can repel far more than ordinary objects. Reputation, government obligations, and private intentions intersect around him, making immediate appearances an especially unreliable guide to his character.

Kuma rewards patient attention, connecting the mystery of a distant figure with questions about sacrifice, agency, and how kindness can survive inside restrictive circumstances.

02 / THE TECHNIQUES

A signature all their own.

Nikyu Nikyu no Mi

Paw pads on his hands can repel objects and even intangible phenomena.

Pad Ho

A palm movement launches compressed air in the shape of a paw.

Ursus Shock

A vast quantity of compressed air expands outward after its controlled release.

03 / THE JOURNEY

Moments that matter.

A quiet arrival

His appearance on Thriller Bark introduces a visitor whose calm requests contrast sharply with the crew's already chaotic circumstances.

An unusual question

Kuma's habit of asking about travel destinations makes an otherwise imposing encounter feel puzzling in a very particular way.

03STORY SPOILERThe meaning of distance

His separation of the Straw Hats at Sabaody ultimately proves protective, sending each crewmate away from an otherwise disastrous confrontation.
